Overtime we have been asked this question repeatedly; ‘What makes you different’? Hence we are dedicating this page to setting the records straight.

We started out as a citizen technology startup amplifying data from social pipelines and public databases leveraging interactive visualizations and infographics storytelling to foster ease of access to information, inform public opinions, drive conversations, accountability and transparency. Our work has revolved around the following key areas; democratic processes, crisis and conflicts and their allied spectrum.

DEMOCRATIC PROCESS (Nigeria Elections 2015)

For democracy to work, informed and active citizens who understand how to voice their interests, act collectively and hold public officials accountable are required. To foster such a process, we launched an Election initiative in 2014 called Election Data Analytics and Visualization (EDAV) to make information easily accessible (including crisis and election violence situations) thus driving collective action and deliberation, and inclusive, evidence-based decision making using data.

CRISIS TRACKING AND REPORTING: Fulani Herdsmen and Farmers Conflict

Within the context of our FHFC initiative, we have tracked and investigated the Fulani Herdsmen and Farmers conflict in Nigeria. We drafted unique cross-sectional visual analysis using high frequency data on violent clashes between both parties. Our analysis examined in particular the history of Fulani Herdsmen and Farmers conflict (a period – over 30 years) as against recent happenings in terms of behavioral trends, causes, human and material losses.

SECURITY GOVERNANCE: IDPs Tracker

The aim of this project is to create a framework linking specific inputs and activities with indicators and their potential impact and measurement. The infrastructure of the tracker was designed to facilitate data exchange, monitoring, measuring, visual analysis, advocacy and impact evaluation of specific humanitarian inputs and activities as it relates with Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and rebuilding of North East Nigeria after its devastation by Boko Haram insurgents.

Access to information is key hence we are deploying cloud-based solutions to allow government organizations to make their data more available online, make data-driven decisions, function more efficiently, and share insights with citizens.
